Our hearts go out to all those impacted by these fires, especially to the displaced families who recently partnered with Habitat for Humanity Maui to build and purchase their homes in Lahaina.
The devastating fires, fueled by dry conditions and strong winds from Hurricane Dora, that swept through the town of Lahaina destroyed this entire neighborhood, displacing all ten Habitat partner families overnight along with thousands of individuals in the community.
Hawaii Habitat for Humanity Association, along with the Habitat affiliates in Hawaii (Hawaii Island Habitat, Leeward Oahu Habitat, Honolulu Habitat, Kauai Habitat), stand with Habitat for Humanity Maui to support the rebuilding efforts of these families and our community once Lahaina is ready for us to put boots on the ground, but we need your help.
Your hands-on involvement can truly make a difference.
We are committed to supporting our community and as soon as it is safe and we are able, we will be there to help underserved families rebuild their homes. Together, we will (re)build homes, communities and hope. Although we are not ready to have boots on the ground quite yet, we will need help once Lahaina is ready for us.
Share our campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. The more people who know about our cause, the greater impact we can make together.
